Zapotec wool rug, 'The Colors of My Village' (2x3.5)

"I was inspired by the bright colors that are displayed around my village on a feast day, " says Mario Ch�vez. He obtains the vibrant colors form natural dyes before weaving the wool rug on a traditional loom. Ch�vez incorporates legendary Zapotec motifs, including frieze patterns and flowers amid bands of colors such as green, red, blue, orange and brown.
