Zapotec wool rug, 'Red Maguey' (4x6.5)

Inspired by designs hewn in stone, Alberto Ruiz Garc�a turns his eyes to the Monte Alb�n archeological site for this design. The intricate central motif is inspired by the maguey plant that flourishes in the sierra. Bands of fretwork adorn this brilliant handloomed rug titled "Escudo de Monte Alb�n" in Spanish. Because each rug is individually woven, measurements could vary +/- 10 cm.
